RPTEXAM was first created in 1990 after HPEXAM appeared to be reasonably popular. Similar to HPEXAM, its capabilities have expanded over the years making RPTEXAM one of the most popular study tools for the NRRPT exam.
RPTEXAM currently has a database of 1100 questions with technical content similar to the questions on the NRRPT exam.
The RPTEXAM questions are not the same as the questions on the NRRPT exam although some may be similar.

You can select to include questions from any of these categories in your exams.
You can print exams and answer sheets and a score card of how you did for each test that you make and take.
As you answer questions, RPTEXAM provides timing and tracks your correct and incorrect answers, and provides the correct answer with an explanation of why!

The objective of the NRRPT is to encourage and promote the education and training of radiation protection technologists and, by so doing, promote and advance the science of health phsics. To do this, the NRRPT has established a credentialling exam. This, criteria based, 150 question exam covers broad-based radiation protection knowledge of accelerators, university health physics programs, medical health physics, power reactors, government radiological facilities, radioactive waste disposal, transportation of radioactive material, fundamentals, and regulatory requirements. The NRRPT also provides incentive and services to encourage personnel to maintain and expand radiation protection education and training. The NRRPT has been endorsed in various ways by several organizations.
